Palam & Dengkil

I’m sorry I just had to do this one T-T As the one and only special batch that gets to experience both Dengkil and Palam’s campus, of course there are preferences, right? Earlier when we got the news that we had to go to Palam, everybody was like “NOOOOO WE DON’T WANT PALAM”. Literally most of us, including me. Now…. that we’ve moved to Dengkil, it is undeniable that Palam is the best.

Palam was colossal that we had to go class by bus. Not only to class but even to the main gate and it takes around 10-15 minutes. My classmates and I usually catch the bus an hour earlier. Cafe Dahlia was the closest place to my college which was Dahlia 3. Walking to the court near the surau to play sports was already tiring because it was quite far. Simplest I can say is that, everywhere I need to go was quite tiring. The ATM was at Cafe Angsana which was about 10 minutes walk from Cafe Dahlia, including 2 flights of (very high) stairs. Basically it’s because I don’t like walking hahaha. If I wanted to go to Warong on a day which had no class, I still had to take the bus because I could die walking to reach there. HAHAHAH. Apart from that, everything else in Palam was satisfying. The houses and rooms  were spacious. My house was at D3-06-08 and we had 4 people in a house, one room each due to the Covid-19 SOP requirement. The food were mostly delicious. Green chilli chicken from Jebat and tomyam from You & Me in Cafe Dahlia was my favourite. Burger at Cafe Angsana was the best. Butter chicken from Warong was scrumptious. I literally love the food there. Next, PTAR in Palam was also huge. The building structure itself was very catchy that it became one of the most famous OOTD spot in Palam. I also fell in love with how it looked like inside. Very conducive and I could say, luxurious. I was terribly sad when we had to leave Palam :(

On the other hand, since I’ve already video called my friend in Dengkil when I was still in Palam, I wasn’t really surprised when I arrived in Dengkil. The room in Dengkil has limited space compared to the room in Palam, and I honestly got claustrophobic when I first moved in. Even the toilet is a lot smaller and the house doesn’t even have a hall. It is just a hallway and a line of our study tables. Gotta admit that I complained a lot at first but nevertheless, I eventually got used to it. The campus itself is also not as big as Palam, obviously. I can wake up 30 minutes before class starts and I can still make it to class on time as Blok Dinamik was only a few steps away from my college. That is one advantage. Hahaha. I can simply go anywhere I want in just a few minutes. The field is also not that far. It has only one cafe, which is Anjung. The ATM was just at the second floor of Anjung so I don’t have to break sweat anymore just to go to cash out. Unfortunately, the food here is so frustrating T-T I got spoilt food twice, and the taste of other foods aren’t that pleasant too. I think I only bought food from the cafes at Anjung like twice or thrice. The others I only bought from the food truck. Thank God for the food trucks, I like the char kuey teow and nasi ayam crispy. Imagine if the food trucks aren’t there. I would starve and go broke from ordering outside food. Or might as well just eat maggi everyday. Haha so unhealthy.

Anyway, I think it was a privilege that I get to experience the campus in Palam. Now that I’m already in Dengkil, I’ll just have to live with it and move forward. When time passes, I’ll feel normal and just enjoy my life in Dengkil too.
