CTU071- FUNDAMENTALS OF ISLAMIC EDUCATION

I think no matter what course that we are taking, Islamic education is always an additional subject since it’s a basic necessity that teaches us the way of living in Islam. Moreover, for TESL, I mostly learned about education from Islamic perspective. The concept of Islamic education was one of it. Not only that, I also learned how to be more professional in teaching. Next, I also got to learn about the importance of education in Islam so that I can be more passionate in learning, and who knows, maybe teaching, in the future. I can sum up that CTU071 has made me realize many things and brought me closer to the Deen.

We only had CTU once in a week and it’s on Friday. During the first few weeks of this semester, Madam Norida only directed us to go through the slides that she had given on Google Classroom. It was an advantage because I had longer time to digest the points in the slides. On top of that, Madam Norida usually scheduled a replacement class on a different day because she usually had other things to do on Fridays. I had no problem with it because it made me feel relaxed on Fridays as CTU was the only class on Friday. During classes, she always had a story to share with us and I like listening to her stories.

The first assignment for CTU was memorizing Surah Al-Mulk from verse 1-15. I had no problem with it because I've already memorized the whole surah since I was in high school. Alhamdulillah, I got full marks for that. Next, we also had to record an analysis of any 5 verses from the same surah, between verse 15-30. I chose verse 23-27 because the meaning behind the verses were simple to explain.

Another assignment is a forum on UFUTURE about the movie Wonder, which I cried watching it. It was a very heartfelt and touching movie. I learned so many lessons from the movie indeed.
