CO-CURRICULAR

Information Literacy

This was a national competition that I participated last year. I had such a brilliant experience. It was held at Perdana Leadership Foundation, where Tun Dr Mahathir’s office is. The theme was World Leaders, and my group had to present about Mao Tse-Tung. We were given 3 hours to prepare so we did the best research that we could. However, it was kind of a mistake because our minds were fixated on “How Mao Tse-Tung was a Good Leader” meanwhile the topic given to us didn’t mention anything about ‘a GOOD world leader’. He was a very cruel leader, killed massive amount of people in his Great Leap Forward, tortured his subjects. Nothing close to a good leader. I don’t know what possessed us (hahaha) that we still tried looking for something good that he did which I merely remember now. Because of that, we only won the third place but it was still an irreplaceable experience and a great lesson to learn.

Poetry Open Stream

I love writing poems. I used to share some of them on my social medias but now, I archived all of them. Hahaha. It’s because I’m just insecure and I felt like my poems weren’t good enough. When choosing the Cocu clubs, I saw the Live Poets Society and thought it would be beneficial for me to join. At first, I was considering between Debate club or Live Poets Society. Then I decided to join the latter. If there wasn’t Covid-19, the club usually held a Poetry Open Stage where people recite their poems on stage. Since it’s during this pandemic, they organized a Poetry Open Stream via Youtube Live. The theme was Halloween. It’s something different to me, because of the theme and the fact that we will be reciting it to people, but I thought I would just give it a try. I LITERALLY WENT OUT OF MY COMFORT ZONE, NO CAP. After quite some time since I last written my poem, somewhere around April, I came up with 2 poems for this event, and it was contemplative. Not really as spooky as everyone else’s, but more to a prolonged thoughts on Halloween. Even after reciting I got so anxious I felt like I want to die of shame! HAHAHA because I’ve never recited my poems in front of people. Nevertheless, it was still a good experience and I wish to learn more in the future to improvise my poems.

Volleyball

It is one of the sports that I enjoyed back then, now, and always will. Even though I didn’t go far in this, but I still love playing it. My team and I had a lot of trainings during the evening. Sometimes even when my extra class finished late, I would still make time to go because I just thought that I want to give my best as the captain. We even had practises at night two or three days before the game. It was kind of a pleasure that we got to skip our preparation class, hahaha.

Logo Competition

I participated a logo designing competition this year. It’s for the Multimedia Club and I never thought that I would be among the finalists. At first, I just took part because I wanted to get extra co-curricular marks. Long after that suddenly Naim, the club’s president added me into a Whatsapp group and informed us that we were the top 20. We had to write the meaning behind the logo that we had created. Again, never did I expect that I would be among the last top 4! Hahaha. So we had to promote and get our friends to vote on Multimedia Club’s IG story, and I managed to get the third place.
